Burgundy

In Burgundy, more than in any other region of France, viticulture demonstrates the experience and wisdom accumulated over centuries. The vineyards are cultivated since the seventh century by men who have come to know all the nuances of their soils. The Burgundy wine is famous for its elegance and subtlety. Vine growing is infinitely complex in Burgundy. Only three grapes varieties are cultivated: Chardonnay for whites and Pinot Noir for red mostly, although few Gamy that we can find (less refined delicate but fruity) thriving in Beaujolais. Burgundy’s soil stretches nearly 175km north of Chablis, isolated from the rest of the region, the vineyards follow one another almost without interruption and including not less than six AOC, which all have their specific character. The most prestigious sites are those of the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, forming the famous Côte d'Or located between Dijon and Chagny.
