Vosne Romanée

Vosne-Romanée: prestigious red wines

This vineyard is one of the most famous vineyards of the Côte-de-Nuits, Vosne-Romanée is both an AOC of Burgundy and a territory that extends on more than 150 hectares distributed on the two communes of Vosne-Romanée and Flagey- Echezeaux. This territory is therefore the home of some very famous domains. The Romanée-Conti domain, whose bottles are normally sold at dizzying prices (between 2,000 and 20,000 euros), being the most important one. We should also mention the Dujac, Dugat Py and Jean Grivot domains.

The Vosne-Romanée vineyard produce mainly red wines. A good part of the Vosne-Romanée wines come from these climates, such as the Brulé or the Chaumes, which are classified as Premier Crus. Their shades go from fiery red to darker hues. At first fruity, wines from these clay-limestone hills become more balanced with age, tending a little less to fruit, and a little more to a leather and brandy flavor. It tastes better when served at between 14 °C and 16 °C. In the kitchen, they accompany meats very well, especially white meats. That said, beef and couscous go well with it too. Such a bottle can be sold with Vins Grands Crus, where everyone can sell their wine at the best price.
