Comtes Lafon

The Comtes Lafon domain, named after the family of the same name, is world famous today. While it extends on a little bit more than 16 hectares in Burgundy , The Comtes Lafon produces about 15 different appellations, regroupated in 4 communes : Meursault ( which is by far the most significant vineyard), Volnay, Monthélie and Chassagne-Montrachet. Every year, more than 60 000 bottles of Comtes Lafon wines are produced.

Its production, done biodynamically, takes between 18 and 22 months to be put in a bottle, and is mainly dedicated to the production of Chardonnay. But nearly 6 hectares are also reserved to the production of Pinot noir. For its part, the domain mainly favorises late harvests and the control of the yields. Thanks to all of this, it is the best wine of the Côte de Beaune. Its wines are smooth, although they have changed and give now priority to the fruit in its most recent vintages. Moreover, since 2011, the range of Meursaults includes two premiers crus: Les Bouchères and Porusots.
