Henri-Jayer: a wine making legend
We are talking about a Burgundy wine making legend because we are talking about the Henri Jayer domain, located in the Côte d'Or. Henri Jayer bottles are highly sought after, some of them even having a higher price than a Romanée-Conti. For a while, the most expensive bottle of wine in the world was a Henri Jayer bottle. This reputation probably comes from the very special production methods used by Henri Jayer, who selected only perfect grains for its production. But this is also due to the fact that its production is very limited: only 3,500 bottles are produced each year. That's why it's so hard to get your own bottle of Henri Jayer wine.
As a result, the appellations from Henri Jayer’s domain are very sought after, such as Echézeaux or Vosne Romanée. Thanks to its limestone soil on which its grapes grow up, these wines are all refreshing and elegant. Full of an exceptional purity, Henri Jayer wines are also naturally acid, a fact that seduces many.
