History and presentation of the Domaine Bouchard pere et fils .
The history of this historic house dates back to the 18th century when Michel Bouchard, a draper of his state, toured Bourgogne to Flanders to sell his fabrics. Attracted by the profitability of the wine trade, he decided to embark on this sector. The acquisition of its first winery through the wine trade dates back to 1774. This estate is located at Volnay. He then founded the " Bouchard Père & Fils" company in 1785 with his son and grandson. In 1820, the descendant Bernard Bouchard acquired the prestigious Château de Beaune built by King Louis XI and installed the wine cellars in its underground and bastions. These are located 10 m below the ground surface on an area of 4,000 m2. This location of the winery ensures the ideal temperature and constant humidity for the maturation and preservation of the wines. Over the centuries, Michel Bouchard has built up with the other members of his family an immense heritage extending over 130 ha along the coast. Other acquisitions thus expand the vines of Volnay including Clos Saint-Landry, that of Beaune Clos de la Mousse, Montrachet, Chevalier-Montrachet, Beaune strike vine of the child Jesus to name but a few. The rise of international trade began at the beginning of the 20th century. Since then, the hotel's Bourgogne wines have been served on the tables of Michelin-starred restaurants and on board airlines and cruise ships. However, the financial crisis of the 90s had an impact on the domain's turnover. As a result, the heirs decided to resell their plots. The CEO of the Henriot group, seduced by the potential of the establishment, its well-established reputation, and its quality requirement for its wines bought it in 1995. The latter endowed the former family business with a new, more efficient winery in 2005.

Quality of wines from domain Bouchard pere et fils.
The philosophy of the Bouchard family is rooted in the manufacture of flagship wines that give the best of the terroirs on which they are planted. True to this standard, while remaining attentive to market trends, each wine in the estate is synonymous with finesse and elegance.-- Domaine Bouchard Chambertin clos de Beze 2009 double-magnum: A superb 300 cl red Grand Cru. This wine surprises with an extraordinary nose, very blossoming with aromas and spices. In the mouth, it is even more remarkable with a good dense side and an absolutely remarkable silky touch. The type of wine to consume for big events like wedding, Christmas celebration, housewarming before moving into a new home.
-- Domaine Bouchard Père et Fils Corton 1964 : This Grand Cru with the transparent red colour of Pinot is par excellence the wine to recommend for amateurs. Aging in the cellar awakens its attractive fine, aromatic and complex nose and its absolute alliance of structure and finesse. The wine all in nuances, of a beautiful acidity has a long and elegant finish. To enjoy alone or to drink with the gratins of meat, grilled fish, pizza, cold cuts ... A rare bottle not to be missed.
-Domaine Bouchard Chevalier Montrachet 2012 : a 100% Chardonnay white Grand Cru with green reflections that displays a nice semi-intense nose of notes of orchard fruit, lemon, flowers and a woody touch. In the mouth, it shows a medium complexity and lines the palate with its medium roundness while being light and impressive. The whole thing ends on acidulous and an incredible length of mouth. A very beautiful wine that can be kept for 10 to 15 years without problems so that it can reach its peak.
- Domaine Bouchard Père et fils Montrachet 1990 : this vintage is a light, deep and complex Grand Cru blanc. The wine that has aged well is excellent to taste with aromas of white pepper, wild strawberry, butter, vanilla, flowers ... The material in the mouth is harmonious, fruity, both rich and dense. This pretty white offers a beautiful honeyed finish that intensifies in the mouth. A well-built wine that will go wonderfully with oysters, fish in sauce, cow's milk cheeses etc. A classy vintage that can still be kept in a cellar for a few years so that it is even more promising in terms of flavors.
