Dugat Py

Dugat-Py: several appellations of high quality

The Bernard Dugat-Py domain is one of the most emblematic of the Côte-de-Nuits. Created in the middle of the Middle Ages, it is now its thirteenth generation of vine growers. That's why the style of this Burgundy wine is exceptionally matured. Today, the appellations from this domain are numerous: Dugat-Py wines are available under the appellation of Chambertin, Lavaux Saint-Jacques, Petite-Chappelle... These are embellished, some years, some additional vintages: the Fonteny, for example, was available in 1996 and 2009. With a production of 35,000 annual bottles, they are hard to find. Some of them exceed the 500 euro mark.

The Dugat-Py territory extends on 10.5 hectares on the Gevrey-Chambertin appellation. It produces both red wines (Pinot noir) and white wines (Chardonnay), in almost equal quantities. What characterizes Chateau Dugat-Py is the age of its vines. They are particularly old, with an average age of around 65 years old. Add to that 6 to 8 years of aging minimum to taste these soft and very pure wines, with a particularly varied range of flavors. Zan, violet, fruits and touches of leather could be tasted. Dugat-Py wines are also interesting because of the shades they have, even within the same vintage. To sell your wine in the best conditions and get a quick estimate, contact Vins Grands Crus!
