Raveneau: refined wines
Founded after the marriage between the Raveneau and Dauvissat families, the Raveneau domain waited until the 1960s to acquire its first parcels of vines and produce its first bottles. It was later on, in the 1980s and 1990s, that the wines which are nowadays known as the Raveneau were made, one of the greatest chablis from the vineyards of Burgundy. The domain, which produces 50,000 bottles every year, comprises 9.5 hectares entirely dedicated to the production of white wines (only Chardonnay). Its harvest is done manually, and it is done early, and the vines are quite old (40 years on average).
Raveneau's wines are particularly refined, and their success is evident all over the world. The best example of the constancy of Raveneau wines is probably the Grand Cru Chablis Les Clos, which has honey and fruit flavors. Let's also mention the Montée de Tonnerre vintage, which is very pure and leaves a sensation of smoothness behind. We should mention that no sale is made on the domain. Most of the Grand Cru Chablis vintages Les Clos are sold for more than 300 euros. However, it is better to reserved early enough to be able to get one: it is not uncommon for some bottles to be reserved in advance.
