Ruinart Domain: an expertise that has become ancestral

In Champagne, some vineyards stand out because of their popularity. Others are known because of the size of their vineyard. The Ruinart house stands out because of its antiquity: it is in fact the oldest Champagne producer in the territory, and the first of its kind. Founded in 1729, this vineyard which comprises mostly (but not only) Chardonnay has 17 hectares of vines today. A modest vineyard, therefore, but whose quality is no longer to be proven. Moreover, even if its mother house is in Reims, it is in the village of Epernay, one of the biggest names in Champagne, that Ruinart wines are produced.

Because even if only one variety of grapes is produced here, these wines are blends. The Blanc de Blancs, for example, is a blend of different years, with a very large majority of Premiers Crus. It is a champagne full of flavors, some vintages being present to give magnitude to the whole. It is also difficult to forget Ruinart’s R, an exemplary blend with a little bit of Pinot Noir and meunier. It is a complex wine, fruity, but with touches of brioche.
