The reports from French winegrowers are mostly positive for the year 2000. In Beaujolais, Rhône, Languedoc-Roussillon, Midi, Alsace and especially in Bordeaux and Burgundy, the wines are very promising. The red wines are deep, rich, superbly structured with beautiful round tannins, wines made to age but which can also be enjoyed in their youth. But not all the winegrowers were successful, because in Champagne, the thermal conditions lead to early budburst. The most rigorous producers anticipated the worst. But fortunately the weather and temperature improved in August and September. This allowed for the production of fine vintages from the region.

-Champagne Bollinger vieilles vignes françaises 2000 grand cru: another iconic cuvée from the House of Bollinger and the region.
