Château Haut Brion

Château Haut Brion

The Chateau Haut-Brion is almost five centuries old. That makes it one of the oldest domains of Bordeaux. It currently counts with a surface of 51 hectares located at the doors of one of the biggest cities in France. In fact, The Haut Brion domain has the specificity of being almost besides Bordeaux. on a sandy-clay soil area. But that hasn't stop it from being recognised : classified "Premier Grand Cru" on the official classification of 1855. In addition, the Haut-Brion wine is recognised as the best from the appellation Pessa-Leognan.
Concerning the Haut-Brion itself, it is a mixture of merlot and carbenet sauvignon, in equal amounts. Several of its vintages have already stand out in the past. In recent years, we can mention the harvest of 2009 and 2010. What characterizes the Haut Brion wines is first of all its rich flavour. After aging, the bottles develop a smoky sweetness that is absolutely typical of this brand. The Haut-Brion brand also produces white wines, such as "Clarté" whose golden color and its generosity on the palate leaves no one indifferent.
